ECollar Makes my Dog Behave Worse – Dog Training Tips

Using an ecollar requires some patience, knowledge and understanding of how a dog thinks, just like most any other training method. Sadly, some people think that the ecollar is a remote control that fixes all issues with the push of a button. This is not the case.

In this video I address that issue. Please check my complete online dog training both here on YouTube as well as my online training channel:

The eCollar I use and recommend is here:

I have a high drive black GSD @ 110 lbs. That is an uncut 30 month old male. He works well with a larger (wider) prong collar and the e-collar when in the field. E-collar mainly for vibration or tones now. Repetition, repetition, and more repetitions worked for me.

This person doesn’t sound like they’re using the e-collar correctly _and_ the dog isn’t properly conditioned to it. Go back to basics with yard work, make sure the foundation is there, and then reintroduce the e-collar.

Humans can and will screw everything up. E collars are great when used properly.

The ecollar pressure could also be driving the dog even harder into the wrong behaviour.
