We’re not currently doing”Competition Obedience”, but I’ve trained heel on the left. I like to keep Competition Obedience open as an option. It also just makes your dog practice obedience intermittently on routine walks, which helps bring the dog’s focus back to you. And makes your dog appear better trained, so people passing by feel more comfortable, lol!!

Excellent “AMA”! Robert’s suggestion on making initial baths short & fun is great. Robert, have you ever used a “Licky Pad” in the bath? I smear sugar & salt free sunflower seed or almond butter on mine (I feel it’s healthier than peanut butter). It has suction cups on them back. I also find it’s a great distraction device when trimming nails and for vet visits. You should try it, Robert–I think it’d be a great addition to your online merchandise store.

for bath time we use a lick mat thhat suctions to the bathtub wall and we put almond butter on it while we bath him and he now loves bath time at 6 months old and 90lbs

I have two GSDS They are both females they both come from a working line not related whatsoever but it’s not just like getting two different puppies out of two different litters it’s a lot of work it’s a lot of structure to the point where you’ve got a Nippet in the bud quickly you can’t wait for anything to escalate
When I walk my girls in a park I find it’s easier for their safety if one is on the left and one is on the right. They can walk very nicely on the left-hand side with no distractions but I happen to prefer things can always happen
